Statutes change. Check the rules at your university before you apply.
Medicine is a special case.
Medicine, dentistry and pharmacy have their own rules. Two things stand out immediately.
- 10 of 17
Often MINT counts, not Medicine
In 10 of 17 rules with the TestAS for medicine, dentistry or pharmacy, the MINT module is required or accepted. Only Würzburg counts the Medicine module alone.
- 49 : 51
TestAS 49%, grade 51%
Würzburg, Frankfurt, MHH and Magdeburg weight it this way. The TestAS makes up almost half of the ranking score there.
What the colours mean.
Each card carries a role badge. It tells you how much the TestAS counts at this university.
- Required
Without the TestAS, your application is not possible or not complete.
10 entries - Entrance exam / programme
The TestAS is part of an entrance exam or a bridging programme.
10 entries - Points
The TestAS earns points in the selection procedure.
2 entries - Weighting
The TestAS counts with a fixed share in a ranking score.
1 entry - Bonus
The TestAS improves your grade or earns bonus points.
3 entries - Optional
You can submit the TestAS, but you do not have to. It can help.
6 entries
If the TestAS counts for you, every point counts.
What the role means for your preparation:
- Required
Required or entrance exam: Without a result, your application is not complete. Where a minimum score applies, you must reach it.
- Points
Points or weighting: The TestAS feeds into your ranking score. Every point improves your place.
- Bonus
Bonus or optional: A good result improves your grade or earns bonus points. The levels are in the rule on each card.

Quick answers
Do I have to take the TestAS for medicine?
That depends on the university. At some locations it is required, for example at RWTH Aachen, the MHH Hannover or in Göttingen. Elsewhere it earns points or a bonus. All medicine locations
Which Subject Module counts?
Each university decides this itself. For medicine, dentistry and pharmacy the MINT module is often required or accepted, sometimes also the Medicine module. Würzburg counts only the digital Medicine module. The accepted modules are shown on each card.
Does the digital TestAS count everywhere?
No. Magdeburg counts only the paper test; according to the source, digital is “not considered until further notice” there. Würzburg counts only the digital test. With the chips “digital counted” and “paper only” you can see what the rules state.
How up to date is the information?
We collect the rules from statutes and university web pages. Statutes change, so check the rules at your university before you apply.
