The TestAS Trainer. Original format, from the first task.
All three subtests of the Core Module in English, with 25-minute blocks, breaks in the right places and an explanation for every task. The same access also opens the German Trainer with all six Subject Modules.

One task from each subtest.
Three tasks in the Core Module format, from the middle and upper levels. Solve them, then open the solution.
- In the TestAS you have 75 seconds per task on average.
- Notes are not allowed in the digital test. Calculate in your head.
- All 4,060 Core Module tasks in the Trainer have a solution like this.
The figures follow fixed rules. Which matrix comes next? Choose one answer each for matrix 5 and matrix 6.
Show solution
Each figure follows its own rule (movement, colour change, rotation). If you continue all rules, you get option C for matrix 5 and option D for matrix 6.
- Figure 1 (semicircle) turns 90 degrees anticlockwise per step.
- Figure 2 (triangle) changes colour in the cycle green – purple – orange (then it starts again); it turns 45 degrees clockwise per step.
- Figure 3 (square) moves 1 square to the right in the first step and then one more square each time. At the edge it bounces back (the direction reverses along the edge axis).
- All rules continue at the same time. Matrix 5: semicircle (purple, rotated by 225 degrees) in row 3, column 1; triangle (purple, rotated by 315 degrees) in row 2, column 4; square (purple) in row 4, column 1. Matrix 6: semicircle (purple, rotated by 135 degrees) in row 3, column 1; triangle (orange, rotated by 0 degrees) in row 2, column 4; square (purple) in row 4, column 2. Matrix 5 and matrix 6 are two separate questions, each with its own options.
- Matrix 5, option A is wrong: figure 3 (square) moves in the opposite direction.
- Matrix 5, option B is wrong: figure 1 (semicircle) turns in the wrong direction.
- Matrix 6, option E is wrong: figure 1 (semicircle) turns 45 degrees too far.
- Matrix 6, option F is wrong: figure 2 (triangle) turns in the wrong direction.
Each letter stands for a number from 1 to 20. Enter the numbers.
D = C × 11 − 7
A = 9 × B − 36
C × (A × B) = 45
A + 2 = 11
Show solution
A = 9, B = 5, C = 1, D = 4. Solution in 4 steps: A = 9 → B = 5 → C = 1 → D = 4.
- Equation (4) “A + 2 = 11” has only one unknown left, A. So A = 9.
- Equation (2) “A = 9 × B − 36” with A = 9 inserted: “9 = 9 × B − 36”. So B = 5.
- Equation (3) “C × (A × B) = 45” with A = 9 and B = 5 inserted: “C × (9 × 5) = 45”. So C = 1.
- Equation (1) “D = C × 11 − 7” with C = 1 inserted: “D = 1 × 11 − 7”. So D = 4.
- The unknowns were A = 9, B = 5, C = 1 and D = 4.
Each letter appears exactly once in every row and column. Which one belongs at the question mark?
Show solution
The question mark is C; first you have to work out 3 intermediate cells.
- Row 5, column 2: Row 5 contains A and B, and column 2 contains D and E. So A, B, D and E are ruled out, and C remains. C goes here.
- Row 3, column 2: Row 3 contains B and D, and column 2 contains C, D and E. So B, C, D and E are ruled out, and A remains. A goes here.
- Row 5, column 4: Row 5 contains A, B and C, and column 4 contains B and D. So A, B, C and D are ruled out, and E remains. E goes here.
- Question mark (row 3, column 4): Row 3 contains A, B and D, and column 4 contains B, D and E. So A, B, D and E are ruled out, and C remains.

Four ways to practise.
-
Practise by subtest and level
Each subtest on its own, the Subject Modules in the German Trainer. Latin Squares and equations in 5 levels.
-
Simulation in the original format
Three subtests of 25 minutes each with the breaks, in the order of the real test. With the Subject Module in the German Trainer.
-
Explanation for every task
Why the correct answer is right and, for multiple-choice tasks, why the others are wrong.
-
Results with solutions
For each subtest you see what was right, with the solutions.
Same format, same times.

Core Module
Our program generates the Core Module tasks according to the rules that g.a.s.t. describes publicly. A second program solves every task again and lets through only tasks with exactly one solution.
Subject Modules
We write the testlets of the Subject Modules ourselves. We do not take over tasks from g.a.s.t. or other providers.

Access is activated after we receive your payment. It lasts 6 months.
One price, everything included.
Pay once, practise for 6 months, all Subject Modules included. Three promises from our Terms:
- No subscription. You pay once. After 6 months your access ends by itself.
- Extend at half price. Another 6 months for €99.50, as often as you like.
- Extend for free on request. Once per purchase, if your result was not above average or it was not enough for your university. Conditions
What you want to know before buying
Does the Trainer predict my TestAS result?
No. The Trainer evaluates your practice. It does not predict a TestAS result and does not guarantee one. Whether a university admits you is decided by the university alone.
Are these real TestAS tasks?
No. The tasks are written by us and reproduce the publicly described format of the TestAS. We do not take over tasks from g.a.s.t. or other providers.
Which Subject Modules are included?
In English, the Trainer covers the Core Module (as of November 2026). The six Subject Modules (Medicine, Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Economics, Humanities, Cultural Studies and Social Sciences, and Engineering) are in German, in the German version of the Trainer. One access and one login cover both languages.
How long do I have access?
6 calendar months from receipt of payment. We remind you by email 30 days and 7 days before the end.
Does my access renew automatically?
No, it ends by itself. If you want to keep practising, you extend it by 6 months for €99.50, or once for free on request. Conditions
How do I get my invoice?
You receive the invoice by email. Each paid extension also gets its own invoice.
Can I practise on my phone?
The Trainer is meant for practising on a computer, just as you take the digital TestAS on a computer. You need a current browser and an internet connection.
The next TestAS is on 26 November 2026.
Ready for the TestAS?
g.a.s.t. sets the dates and registration deadlines: all dates.
